ASB Classic serving up delicious food and beverages this summer
The 2019 ASB Classic is yet again set to be one of the must visit locations for food lovers this summer with a stellar range of food and beverage options accompanying the superb list of on court talent already announced.
The tournament has teamed up with some of the best names in food from around New Zealand to ensure there are a range of appetite whetting options on the menus and there is something for everyone to love for the two action packed weeks in Auckland.
This year the ASB classic has partnered with renowned local catering providers Collective to deliver a premium dining experience for tennis fans. Featuring menu items from celebrity chefs including Martin Bosley and Josh Emett as well as contributions from local hot-spot Azabu, the tournament menu includes a mixture of classic favourites with some tasty new treats.
New partners East Imperial and Jaguar have teamed up to deliver The Pace Cocktail Lounge, offering a line-up of enticing, Asian-fusion bites designed by Auckland-favourite Azabu restaurant. The menu includes tasty temptations such as free-range karaage chicken, black tiger prawn dumplings and wonton bombs. Enjoy your dish accompanied with a refreshing East Imperial-infused beverage, while overlooking all the action happening on courts two & four from the open-air balcony.
For something tasty, fresh and light, fans are encouraged to head to sample some of New Zealand’s best seafood with delectable tasting platters featuring New Zealand’s finest Big Glory Bay salmon at new venue Fish & Frozé. Let the raw bar tempt you with a healthy and super tasty Big Glory Bay salmon poke bowl or try a tasty and refreshing frosty frozé - the coolest drink in town this summer.
The Babich Wine Bar will be the must-visit location to sample some of New Zealand’s best wines from New Zealand’s most experienced winery. With a range of snacks and plated dishes including charred Taupo lamb skewers, salted duck confit and a Kapiti cheeseboard highlighting some of the finest Kiwi cheeses, there is guaranteed to be something to whet the appetite.
For those adventurous foodies a visit to The Kapiti Store is a must. Go on a taste adventure with unique cheeseboard pairings featuring some of New Zealand’s finest cheeses, including dark chocolate ganache and blueberry chilli relish, or a creamy Kakikatea camembert paired with pork crackling or smoked havarti with Korean kim-chi!
Fan favourite The Heineken Bar will be offering patrons the chance to take a break and recharge with some of the tastiest food around, featuring a New York rooftop bar-inspired menu including treats such as southern style chicken sliders, fried chicken and salted duck croquettes – all perfectly complemented by refreshing cold Heineken.
Celebrity chef Josh Emett will be bringing one of Auckland’s most popular eateries to life at the ASB Classic with a Hawker & Roll pop-up. Fans will be able to experience Malaysian inspired street-eats classic the hawker roll - a rolled roti stuffed with an array of flavoursome fillings – the perfect hand-to-mouth meal option for those no wanting to miss a minute of the on-court action.
And of course the must-see new addition to the tournament this year, The Serve will see a luxurious new poolside experience open to the public. Offering guests the chance to indulge in VIP cabanas while watching all the action on the big screen, the pool will be accessed via the Moët & Chandon Racquet Club.
Spread across two levels with an upper dining and bar level set under al fresco pergolas and a lower poolside area, the Moët & Chandon Racquet Club features a delicious menu curated by celebrity chef Martin Bosley. Some of the hero temptation items from the menu include cedar boards of hot-smoked Big Glory Bay salmon or oyster & tapioca pearls, with a delicious chilled glass of Moët & Chandon.

An ASB Classic ground pass is one of the best ways to see all the big names at the tournament. Starting from just $15, the ground pass enables fans to catch all the action on courts two and four, watch the biggest star’s practice and warm up on court five or take in all the action from centre court on the giant screens in The Serve.
The ASB Classic will span for two weeks; the women's tournament kicking off on December 31 to January 6 followed by the men’s tournament from January 7 to 12.
